Arrive Sunday July 11th between 4pm and

Housing Includes: 5 nights in a
dorm at Mars Hill College. Male and Female residents will be
separated by floors, with RA’s and Camp Supervisors on
each floor. |

Check Out will be Friday July 16th. |

Please bring twin sized sheets,
blankets, pillows, towels, and toiletries for your stay. |
Meals:

Meals include breakfast, lunch, and
dinner plus snacks/drinks throughout the day for the 5 days
the student is on campus. It begins with dinner Sunday night
when he/she arrives and concludes with lunch Friday
afternoon. |

Meals will be served in Pitman Dinning
Hall, the Mars Hill College cafeteria. There is an array of
choices everyday and options for those with special food
concerns as well. |

Class Level Descriptions:
 | Beginning Classes: Starting from scratch, no
experience required. |
 | Intermediate Classes: Some experience and knowledge
of dance terminology. |
 | Advanced Classes: High Skill Level expanding step
knowledge and repertoire. |
Dance Types Offered:
 | Clogging: Southern Appalachian Dance styles that
consist of rhythmic sounds produced by the feet. |
 | Irish: Traditional step dance made popular in the
show “Riverdance.” |
 | Jazz/Hip Hop: A mixture of modern dance movements
and Pop styles. |
 | Traditional Step Dance: A medley of dance styles
including: Flat Foot, Buck Dancing & Waltz Clog. |
 | Ballet: A basic overview of Ballet techniques and body
movements. Upper level will focus on turns and jumps as well
as technique. |
 | Percussive Dance: A mixture of South African
Gumboot, Collegiate Stepping, and Hambone/Body Percussion. |
 | Traditional Figures: A mixture of traditional Irish
Ceili/Set and Appalachian figures and partner turns. |
 | Stretching/Yoga: A complete focus of the entire body
through isolated and ballistic stretching, and balancing
poses |
 | Auditioning 101: This class will offer the skills
and tricks of auditioning for a production, for a dance
team, a show, or anything that you or your child needs to
know about the audition process. It will also focus on
confidence skills in dance. |
 | Media/Pop Dances: A Mixture of popular dances in the media
including the Cupid Shuffle, “She Wines”, Country Line
Dances, and many more. This class is geared toward a younger
age division. |
 | Social/Partner Dancing: A Variety of Dances Such as the
Texas Two Step, Mambo, Waltz, Jive, etc. |
 | Swing Dance: The Basics you need to know for this popular
style dance. Includes small lifts and turns.
